Minneapolis' very own blend of Soul Rock, concocted in a garage that's witnessed more spilled beers and debauchery than Patrick Swayze's "Roadhouse." 

Frontman Tony B, leads with a howl and snarl that might remind you of a Tom Waits and RL Burnside love child, mysteriously capable of communicating only through clips of ALF reruns. It sounds bizarre, but it's undeniably accurate. His unique, percussive, and droning guitar play has been known to intimidate bass players back to their day jobs and leave the drummer questioning his relevance. 

Jason 'Red' Lawson, on the Baritone and Tenor Saxophone's, attacks each note as if he's avenging a personal vendetta, a grudge only the sax could comprehend. He plays with such intensity, that it's as though the saxophone owes him money. Yet, he can switch gears to produce horn licks so sweet, they reportedly gave their former bass player diabetes. 

Grey "Gravy" Tison, affectionately dubbed "Gravy" is a prodigy on the keys, but his musical talent doesn't stop there. Throw any instrument his way, and he'll have it crooning Skynyrd with a dash of Herbie Hancock's funk. Rumor has it, he was chained to a piano at six and was told freedom only came with mastering "Free Bird" in the style of jazz fusion. 

"Beat" Nick Hughes, On drums, aka "One Take Rattlesnake," delivers beats as if John Bonham got his funk chops by air drumming along to 80s theme song "Different Strokes"—sloppy, yet undeniably groovy. Diff'rent Strokes for diff'rent folks, but everyone moves to the beat of this man's drums. 

Together, The Placaters deliver Soul Rock infused with blues and a tinge of funk, crafting tunes that compel you to think, dance, and perhaps reevaluate some life decisions—all within the span of a five-minute jam.
